Helping women has been my goal from the very beginning of my educational and professional training. It’s something that I have prioritized during my 18 years as a busy Ob/Gyn physician and continues to inform my professional goals. That’s why I’m so excited to be taking the next step in my professional journey by founding Kind Circle Weight Wellness.
In the last few years, I have desperately wanted to help my patients with their ongoing struggle to reach and maintain a healthy weight. I have looked for help in the community to offer them, but most of the options involved severely restrictive diets or invasive surgeries with daunting risks and consequences or medications that do cause temporary reduction in weight but cannot be used long-term.
Women are looking for a sustainable way to prioritize their health. A way to put cycling weight loss and gain to the side to focus on the rest of their lives, the people and priorities that are most important to them. Women are motivated! They are daughters and partners and sisters and mothers and friends. But too often, they feel their weight is beyond their control or that they will inevitably fail to make changes in their eating because that is what has happened in prior attempts (before?).
Kind Circle Weight Wellness is born of my desire to help each woman live their fullest and healthiest life. An increasing body of literature shows us that success in weight loss is not determined by which reasonable diet people choose, but by the degree of adherence to that diet. That is the piece that has been missing! People know what to eat, but they do not know how to make that choice time and time again as is necessary to make a lifestyle change.
Fortunately, if given the right tools, it is possible to make changes that last. This requires work, practice, resilience and compassion for ourselves. At Kind Circle we will provide evidence-based, proven methods to help our patients move through and beyond their weight loss struggle.
